If you want a piece of fitness equipment that will make home workouts challenging but also enjoyable, the Nautilus E616 elliptical machine is a solid, quality machine that gets the job done.
And it’s also very cost efficient.
Nautilus redesigned their elliptical trainers line to incorporate the latest tech into their machines.
I’m talking 29 built in workout programs for the E616 machine, the Nautilus Connect bluetooth sync function and a brand new app that tracks your progress, the Nautilus Trainer.
Use the Quick Navigation Menu:
Build and Design
The Nautilus E616 elliptical trainer is made for home use but even so it’s a very well built machine.
The frame has oversized crossbar tubing which makes the machine more stable and less likely to wobble during high intensity workouts.
The average assembly time for the E616 model is about 2-3 hours. The manual comes with easy to understand instructions and clear pictures which really helps alot.
When everything is put together the E616 elliptical has 71.5 inches in length, 26.7 inches in width and 63.2 inches in height. It weighs 173.3 lbs.
The machine supports a maximum user weight of 300 pounds or 136 kg.
The oversized, cushioned footplates allow you to benefit from an increased level of comfort which makes the workouts more enjoyable and low impact on your knees and ankles.
Resistance Levels and Incline
With the Nautilus E616 elliptical you will never be in any danger of maxim out the machine’s capabilities.
It comes with 25 levels of eddy current magnetic resistance which allow you to challenge yourself physically.
One feature that’s worth talking about is the power incline. You can adjust the incline from 0 to 11% while you’re working out. You don’t have to stop and get of the machine to do it like on the E614 model.
Increasing the incline not only makes the exercise harder, it also allows you to better isolate different muscle groups that you might want to target.
The Nautilus E616 elliptical machine has a 20″ Precision Path stride length which makes the running motion feel natural and fluid even if you’re taller than 6ft.
Thanks to the high speed, high inertia perimeter weighted flywheel, the machine has no problem dealing with a faster, run-like pace. Your workouts are smooth and quiet.
The Electronic Console
The Nautilus E616’s console features 2 blue backlit LCD displays that are easy to read and provide you with all the performance data you need to track your workout progress.
The machine also has a built-in 3-speed fan and acoustic chambered speakers which are at the bottom of the console.
The media shelf is just the right size. You can use it to read a book or watch something on your tablet. The USB port allows you to charge your tablet or smartphone and you can also use it to transfer workout data.
As I said the E616 elliptical machine comes with the latest tech features like Bluetooth connectivity through which you can export your tracked data and user profiles to the Nautilus Trainer app.
The stationary handles come with pulse sensors that track your heart rate. You can also track your heart rate through a wireless chest strap.
The console is very well laid out and easy to use.
The Nautilus E616 elliptical machine comes with 29 workout programs you can choose from.
The programs are divided into 5 types: profile programs, heart rate programs, fitness test, recovery test and quickstart.
There are 12 profile programs which are also divided into 3 categories: fun rides, mountains and challenges. Each program allows you to set a goal which can be distance, time or calories burned.
Heart rate programs allow you to set a target heart rate you want to maintain during the exercise. The machine tracks your heart rate either through the grip pulse sensors or a wireless chest strap and adjusts the resistance accordingly.
You can set up profiles for 4 different users where you can store information like height, weight, age, prefered workout program settings. You can sync all the stored data to the online Nautilus Trainer app with the Nautilus Connect function.
Customer Service and Warranty
Nautilus customer service was very easy to reach and they were very professional and polite while helping us solve our problem.
Although it would have been nice to benefit from a lifetime warranty on the frame, at this price a 10 year warranty is acceptable. There’s a 2 year warranty on mechanical parts, 1 year on electrical and 90 days on labor.
